Navigation Skills

Gain confidence with map reading and locating yourself in the hills with my three navigation workshops. The workshop are jargon free and aimed to build your confidence when out navigating the hill, whatever your level.

About the Navigation Walks

There are three types of navigation walk:

  • Navigation for Novices
  • Off-path Navigation
  • Night time Navigation

Check of the Events Page for more details on each of these. There some events which are open to everyone, but if you are part of a group and want to have your own private navigation workshop, then please get in touch (or ring/email).

All workshops are aimed to be fun and give more confidence without all the jargon.

The courses consist of 2 parts; the first part will involve classed-based exercises (apart from the night nav). This is followed by a session outdoors around the local hills and moors to put your new skills into practice.

We will be in the Dark Peak area for all the workshops and will be using OS Explorer OL1 1:25,000 The Peak District Dark Peak Area.
